Dallas Smith recorded two albums with other artists for Rising Sun Records, based in Marin County California, before receiving the opportunity to release his first solo album, Stellar Voyage in 1984. It was through Rising Sun Records that Suand and Dallas met for the first time. Susan was shopping her first album, The Fire in the Rose, to Rising Sun Records. They gave her Stellar Voyage to introduce "one of the artists on the label." The rest is history!
Stellar Voyage features Dallas's acoustic woodwinds as well as the Lyricon wind synthesizer, the first electronic wind instrument.
