We can get a good Malbec here. A local Vintner grows and makes the wine.

Aliza, One of my readers informed me that Macbec is more Argentine than Chilean. Maybe that's why they didn't serve it. Love, Dallas

Thanks dear Shanna! Did I tell you that we sold our company to three of our staff? Big change for us! But we'll continue to be involved, just not responsible for hiring and firing and the day to day stuff. I don't know if you saw it, but they posted your video again on LinkedIn. So thanks again for your touching testamonial. More blogs to come...Love, Dallas

Dallas and Susan Love your blog. Brings back great memories of our five years in South America. As you head south I hope you get to stop in Puerto Montt/Chiloe Island (oysters - yum) and then Torres del Paine park (spectacular). One small correction - Chili is not famous for Malbecs. It is Argentina that makes the best Malbecs in the world. You will undoubtedly taste them when you head up the Argentinian coast. Cheers.

Mike, Now I understand why we weren't served Malbec at our tastings. Well the others were great, and the boat expects to load more Chilean wine at our next port. We're not stopping in Argentina unfortunately. But we'll make two stops in Uruguay next door. Maybe they'll give us Malbec. All the best, Dallas

I have sampled many Chilean wines. I also found them reasonabally priced with good flavor. I have never taken the time to visit that far down South Americia, but it was on my list; and is moving higher on the list. Thank you for your opinion on American involment in other countries.
